Jonathan Grech 
Managing director
Jonathan is not only a dedicated member of the Gozo Spirit Combat Club but also a driving force in the automation industry with over two decades of invaluable experience. His portfolio boasts successful project deliveries both locally in Malta and across international borders.
Embarking on his career as a technician at a reputable Maltese company specializing in electronic device and component design, Jonathan’s journey took a significant turn when he co-founded Advanced Automation and Controls Ltd (AAC) alongside his wife in 2005.
Initially focusing on industrial automation, AAC evolved with the expanding landscape of automation across residential, commercial, and marine sectors. This evolution led to the rebranding of the company to JMartans in 2009, marking a new era of growth and diversification.
With nearly two decades of establishment and a dedicated team of 12, JMartans transcended its beginnings in a small residential garage and relocated to Mosta Technopark. This strategic move provided the necessary space and resources to undertake larger-scale automation projects across various industries.
In addition to expanding physical infrastructure, JMartans has cemented its reputation among industry leaders, forging partnerships with esteemed brands like Siemens, Belimo and Beckhoff, among others.
Looking forward, Jonathan’s vision for JMartans extends beyond its current achievements. He aims to further penetrate sectors such as safety and mechanical automation, solidifying the company’s position as the foremost trusted and reliable name in automation, both locally and internationally.
Maria Torrisi
General Manager
Meet Maria, a dynamic and results-oriented General Manager with a proven track record of success in the automation industry. With extensive experience overseeing diverse functions including sales, customer service, and ISO standards implementation, Maria brings invaluable expertise to the table.
Currently serving as the General Manager at JMartans Automation Ltd since March 2024, Maria has spearheaded numerous initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and fostering a culture of quality excellence. Notable achievements include the successful implementation and upkeeping of ISO standards across all departments, ensuring compliance and elevating the company’s reputation for quality.
Prior to assuming the role of General Manager, Maria held key positions within the organization, including Head of Sales and Business Development Manager. As Head of Sales from July 2020 to March 2024, she was instrumental in driving international expansion efforts, consolidating customer relationships, and establishing robust sales strategies to achieve annual targets.
In addition to her achievements, Maria has created the highly successful spare parts department and established the JMartans Academy.
The JMartans Academy develops industrial automation courses tailored to equip participants with essential skills sought after in the job market. These courses offer comprehensive tools aimed at fortifying their expertise in the field, empowering them to excel in their careers.
Maria has a remarkable knack for forging strong relationships with suppliers and partners on an international scale. Her keen negotiation skills and strategic approach have facilitated the forging of lucrative deals with international partners, expanding the company’s global footprint and opening up new avenues for growth.
With Maria wealth of experience and unwavering commitment to excellence, Maria continues to drive growth and innovation within the automation industry, making her a valuable asset to any organization.
Ing. Vince Deguara
Technical Director
Introducing our Technical Director, Ing Vince Deguara, an invaluable resource whose expertise and dedication propel our company to new heights. With a profound understanding of technical intricacies and a wealth of experience, he is a cornerstone of our team.
Highly knowledgeable and respected within the industry, Vince consistently garners compliments from all customers. His ability to grasp complex technical concepts and communicate them effectively ensures seamless project execution and unparalleled customer satisfaction.
Furthermore, JMartans’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance is mirrored by Vince’s dedication. He holds prestigious qualifications in machinery safety, including CMSE® – Certified Machinery Safety Expert (TÜV Nord), CEFS® – Certified Expert in Functional Safety (TÜV Nord), and CECE® – Certified Expert in CE Marking (TÜV Nord). His certifications not only highlight his personal dedication but also align perfectly with JMartans’ commitment to penetrate new markets and expand its offerings in machinery safety engineering.
Under his expert supervision, our company has successfully delivered numerous projects across Industrial and Building Management Systems (BMS) sectors.
